Spousal Support

Your Spousal Support arrangements are determined by the Spousal Support Guidelines found here. Generally speaking, spousal support is paid by the main income earner to the other partner. It is always good to obtain legal advice for claims regarding spousal support.

You need to know:

  1.  Income - your income, and that of your partner.

  2. Child Support: You also need to know how much child support is being paid.

  3. Other Factors: How long the relationship lasted, whether one partner took time out of their work or career to raise the family, and what other spousal or child support is being paid through other agreements, will all affect the calculation.

Calculating Spousal Support:  You can use the Federal Support Guidelines, or  My Support Calculator, which has a free section.
